As previously stated the following pages are only of value as the beginning of a search. These cannot be regarded as anything better than catalysts to the process of research and should not be relied on as an exclusive source of information. On the other hand it has to be conceded that the most reliable analysis of extant letters has to be based on chronological sequence. As at May 2006 this has not yet been completed for this site and this shortcoming has an impact on the completeness of the 'Correspondents' pages which are only published for illustrative purposes. The years that have yet to be processed are 1786, 1787, 1788,1789 and 1790. However, once this has been completed it is intended to go back and insert descriptions of all of the extant letters from Mrs Dunlop to Robert Burns
